About This Series
These photographs were made outdoors and are of people I like. Austin Moten, an Elvis Impressionist, stands under an umbrella because he cannot take the hot sun. At the Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras, I walked around and asked people if I could take their picture. Mardi Gras Portrait#1 was directed in hand signals. There were too many people and there was too much noise. The couple in Mardi Gras Portrait#2 were watching just as they were photographed. That's what caught my eye. Also, in this series, there are the people I know… Emanuel Schmidt is a jazz guitarist who is now in Las Vegas. Jean Marc Russ is an actor, a writer, and a director for the theatre. James Browne is a costume designer. Lara Zell is a self described gypsy who just loves life.
